How does it work
Our brains function on two levels: consciously and unconsciously. The conscious part of our brain influences the behaviour we are aware of, the decisions we make, we think and act using our conscious mind. This part of our mind processes on average seven pieces of information at a time. The unconscious part of the brain is where it gets really interesting. This part of the brain processes millions of pieces of information all at once, our beliefs & reactions operate in this part of the brain. The unconscious mind enables the functioning of our bodies and controlling behaviour we’re not aware of – in other words, our habits.
So what happens when we smoke over a long period of time (and especially if you go back to it after you have been able to stop) is that your subconscious mind becomes convinced that there’s a good reason to smoke. Even if you know consciously that there is no good reason to smoke or if you consciously don’t know why you smoke: your subconscious watches the pattern in your behaviour and locks in those patterns that it feels are helping you with something, such as boredom or stress or even just giving you pleasure or comfort. Once your subconscious has locked in those patterns to the point where they are automatic, it’s very hard to break them with your conscious willpower alone, because it's almost like you have set up a tug of war in your mind, where you consciously make a decision to stop smoking, and your subconscious pulls in the opposite direction.
So I will guide you to a deeply relaxed state so that I may speak to your subconscious part of your mind directly, (the part that believes there’s a good reason to smoke) and get your subconscious to understand and accept 3 things about smoking that you already know consciously:
- That the reason you started smoking in the first place was a mistake, as well as the reason you have gone back to it if you have given up in the past was a mistake.
- That it's no longer serving you any worthwhile purpose in your life.
- That you want this habit to stop right now.
When your subconscious understands and accepts those 3 things, and you consciously believe the same 3 things then you can get alignment in your conscious and subconscious mind, which supports your decision to stop smoking, rather than pulling you in the opposite direction, which is what it would do now if you tried to make the decision to stop.

What to expect
I offer a free 30 minute consultation for every client. This enables both the client and myself plenty of time to establish if my program is suitable for you and if your are suitable for it.
At the first session we will have a detailed discussion about your smoking habit. I find out your reasons for smoking, your triggers and motivation to quit, as well as all the things or activities you have connected to smoking over your lifetime. Throughout this conversation I am collecting your words, so the hypnosis doesn’t feel like a stranger speaking to you, and telling you what to do, as that would never work. This way it feels like you are telling yourself what you want to change.
The Hypnosis takes approx. one hour and after that you will feel very relaxed. Everyone experiences the Hypnosis session a little differently, some say they feel like they are floating on clouds, and others say that they feel clarity and relaxation. Many people lose time throughout the session, which is completely normal. You are in control at all times, unlike stage hypnosis, and you can stop the session at any given moment if you choose to.
If you do go back to smoking I ask all clients to contact me IMMEDIATELY. I will then do a second session, that is different to the first, which in most cases will completely eliminate any desire to smoke ever again. I am happy for all clients to have a third session if for some reason they return to the habit. This is unheard of in this industry, but I honestly want to see my clients succeed, so if you do return to the habit, feel free to call me for a third session.
